Saturday Night's All Right For...

By the way, we called 911 3 times on Saturday. I think this has to be some kind of record. Along with my 3 calls to 911, I filled out 2 police reports.

I'll give you a little teaser:

One of the incidents involed a full-sized pickup doing a front-flip about 3 feet away from me.

How a bout I just tell you quickly what happened? Shortly after midnight on Friday night (so early saturday morning), a car crashed into the fence that is behind our house. Some kids jumped the curb in the cul-de-sac above us, drove down a grassy hill, and smashed into the fence so hard it deployed the airbags, shattered the windshield, flattened a tire, and really messedup the rest of the car. I got out there and climbed the fence in time to see another car speed away and 2 teenagers running away into the night. They just abandoned thier wrecked car.

Being as dumb as I was when I was a teenager, they must have forgot that it is fairly easy to identify who owns a vehicle. Espesially when I ripped the liscence plate off the front of the car to use as evidence. So, we called the cops (call #1) and they came and called a tow truck to get the car essentially out of our backyard. Very strange.

About 2 am, I heard the kids come back, so I called the cops again (call #2) to try to catch them. This time, the cops told me that they had located the kids and the owner of the car said that he was 'getting a new car tomorrow, and just wanted to trash his old car'. I think it was a batant excuse to not tell the police that he was so drunk/high that he drove through a small park and crashed his car accidentally.

The third call was the most exciting. We were comming home from the movies Saturday Night when and stopped at a red light when we heard a really loud crash. I looked over to see a full sized pickup that was next to me doing a front-flip over the top of another car. A drunk and high driver slammed into the back of the truck going full speed (we guess about 60-65 mph). The force sent the pickup spinning on its top. We were so close to the wreck that my truck got splattered by oil, antifreeze, etc. I don't know how, but we didn't get a scratch. Funny thing is, I had for some reason just moved out of that lane when approaching the red light. Had I not done this, we would have been the ones upside down. We called the cops to report the wreck and had to fill out a police report. The driver of the pickup was a pregnant lady who actually walked away from the wreck. She was carried away in an ambulance, but seemed to be ok.
